Tasty Mangoes, Inc. ("Tasty Mangoes," "we," "our," or "us") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your information. This Privacy Policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and your choices when you use the Tasty Mangoes mobile application, website, browser extensions, and related services (collectively, the "Service").
1. Information We Collect
a. Information You Provide
We collect information you provide directly when you create an account or use the Service, including:
- Phone number — used to verify your identity via a one-time SMS code. We do not use your phone number to send marketing messages, promotional content, or any ongoing SMS communications.
- Display name and profile information — if you choose to add them.
- Movie preferences, watchlists, ratings, and reviews — the core of your Tasty Mangoes experience.
- Voice input — if you use voice search or voice note features (see Section 1c below).
- Messages and notes — if you send recommendations or notes to other users within the Service.
b. Automatically Collected Information
When you use the Service, we may automatically collect limited technical information, including:
- Device type, operating system, and app version
- App usage data (screens viewed, features used, interactions)
- Diagnostic and performance data
- Session identifiers and timestamps
This information helps us operate, debug, and improve the Service.
c. Voice Input (Optional)
If you use voice search or voice note features, your voice input is processed to convert speech to text in order to fulfill your request. Voice input may be processed by a third-party speech-recognition provider. We do not store raw audio recordings beyond what is needed for real-time processing.
Transcripts of voice input may be retained to operate, personalize, debug, and improve the Service.
d. Contribution Data (Browser Extension)
If you use the optional Tasty Mangoes browser extension or other contribution tools, we may collect streaming-availability information and related movie metadata that you capture while browsing. We collect only what is necessary for the contribution feature. We do not collect your general browsing history, personal messages, payment information, passwords, or other sensitive information through these tools.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Verify your identity and create and manage your account
- Provide personalized movie recommendations, taste profiles, and discovery features
- Save and sync your watchlists, ratings, reviews, and activity
- Enable social features, including sending and receiving recommendations within the Service
- Improve app features, performance, and accuracy
- Debug and diagnose technical issues
- Communicate important updates about your account or the Service
- Comply with legal obligations
3. SMS and Phone Number Use
SMS verification is handled by Twilio, a third-party service provider. Your phone number is shared with Twilio solely for the purpose of delivering your verification code. We do not sell your phone number or share it with third parties for their own marketing purposes. We do not share your SMS opt-in status or consent information with advertisers or marketing partners.
Message and data rates may apply to the verification code message.
4. Data Sharing
We may share limited information with trusted service providers that help us operate the Service. These providers may include:
- Cloud infrastructure and database providers (e.g., Supabase) — for storing and processing your data
- SMS verification provider (Twilio) — solely to deliver your one-time verification code
- Speech-to-text providers — solely for real-time voice input processing if you use voice features
- Analytics providers — for app performance and usage insights
- AI and search providers — for powering recommendation and search features
These providers are given access only to the information necessary to perform their specific services and are not permitted to use your information for their own marketing purposes.
We do not track you across third-party apps or websites.
We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or government authority, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Tasty Mangoes, our users, or others.
If Tasty Mangoes is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will provide notice before your information becomes subject to a materially different privacy policy.
5. Data Storage and Security
Your information is stored on secure cloud infrastructure with access restricted to authorized systems and personnel. We use industry-standard technical and organizational measures to protect your information against unauthorized access, loss, alteration, or disclosure.
No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. If you have reason to believe your account has been compromised, please contact us immediately at legal@tastymangoes.com.
6. Data Retention
We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. If you request deletion of your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal information, except where we are required to retain it for legal, compliance, or legitimate business purposes.
7. Your Choices and Rights
You may:
- Update or correct your account information within the app
- Request deletion of your account and associated personal data by contacting us at legal@tastymangoes.com
- Opt out of certain data collection by discontinuing use of optional features (such as voice input or contribution tools)
If you are a California resident, you may have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), including the right to know what personal information we collect, the right to request deletion, and the right to opt out of sale. 8. Children's Privacy
Tasty Mangoes is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected information from a child under 13, please contact us at legal@tastymangoes.com and we will promptly delete it.

The Service may link to or integrate with third-party services, websites, streaming platforms, and other providers. This Privacy Policy does not apply to those third-party services. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party service you use.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updates will be reflected by revising the Effective Date at the top of this page. If we make material changes, we may notify you through the app or by other reasonable means. Your continued use of the Service after an updated policy becomes effective constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
